e–Sword is outstanding, free Bible study software, that bills itself as, “a fast and effective way to study the Bible…feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free Bible app. The fact that e-Sword is free is just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the app.” Besides being free and very deep, the app is hard drive based, so once it is downloaded, the user does not need to be online in order to use it.
e–Sword is, in this writer’s opinion, the very best freeware Bible study software available, as it includes wordsearch tools, Bible translations, concordances, commentaries, and many more resources. Definitely worth using, and absolutely worth donating to help support this remarkable software.
e–Sword was initially only a PC based solution, but has since developed solid apps for Mac (e-Sword X), for iPhone (e–sword LT), and for iPad (e–Sword HD). Biblesupport.com provides an “archive of user-made e–Sword modules, resources and tools.“ There isn’t any excuse for not having excellent Bible study tools installed on your device, as e–Sword is free and user friendly. I cannot speak highly enough of this tool that puts the English Bible in the hands of anyone who wants it at no cost.
